Kingsbury Hall

Kingsbury Hall is the main academic hub for the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences and home to most engineering programs, as well as mathematics & statistics, and computer science. Students take core and advanced courses here in modern classrooms, computer labs, and collaborative project spaces, including the dedicated student project wing where teams design, build, and test their ideas.

Kingsbury is also home to the CEPS Makerspace, the CEPS Machine Shop, Kingsbury Library and the Mathematics Assistance Center, giving students access to hands-on tools, tutoring, and academic support in one central location.

Academic programs with their offices in Kingsbury include analytics, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, computer science, data science, electrical engineering, information technology, mathematics, mechanical engineering, and statistics.

The Courtyard & Community

Kingsbury Courtyard is the heart of a strong CEPS community, serving as a central gathering space where students connect outside the classroom. At the start of each academic year, it hosts the CEPS Day BBQ and a later hosts the college’s annual Spring Field Day. Student in CEPS can choose from dozens of ways to get involved, including professional organizations like the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Society of Women Engineers (SWE), or they can also join hands-on competition teams such as the FASE Formula One race team, Concrete Canoe, and Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, a hybrid rocketry team.

The Mathematics Assistance Center (MaC) provides drop-in tutoring and support for services for students in 400-level and some 500-level Math courses. The service is FREE to UNH students. Come in to work on your coursework and to ask our tutors questions about your course material. Drop-in tutoring is a great place to make new friends among your classmates and to form study groups.

Jere A. Chase Ocean Engineering Laboratory

The Jere A. Chase Ocean Engineering Laboratory gives students hands-on experience with the technologies used to study and design systems for the ocean environment. Inside its large wave and engineering tanks, students conduct research in ocean engineering, marine robotics, ocean mapping, acoustics, and hydrographic surveying. Through advanced coursework, research projects, and real-world testing, students apply what they learn in the classroom to the challenges of working in coastal and marine environments.

The UNH Interoperability Laboratory  gives students the chance to work with some of the world’s top technology companies while testing innovative networking and data communication products. As the only full-scale, non-profit test lab of its kind, the IOL employs more than 100 undergraduate and graduate students in paid roles where they gain real-world engineering experience.
